Please note that some of the below listed establishments will not have any dorm rooms available to rent unless you are diving with their dive center – especially during the busy season (End of December until End of April, July to September).
Bay Island College of Diving (BICD)
BICD is located just past the center of town. Walk left from the ferry dock until just before the fire station. The office for BICD is open and you can see it right off the road.
There is a big dorm room on the third floor of the building over-looking the bay. On site bars and restaurant and access to the sea from a large dock.
The dorm room can sleep up to 28 people. They charge $10 USD per night for those not diving and $8 USD per night for divers doing courses with BICD.
BICD also has two private rooms which cost $35 USD per night for non-divers and $17 USD per night for their divers.
They also offer four fully furnished apartments with kitchen which cost $50 USD per night for non-divers and $35 USD per night for divers.
The prices include tax. If guests want to use the air conditioning they will have to pay $15 USD extra per night.

Blueberry Hill ~
Comfortable and simple rooms at an inexpensive rate with sweet local woman named Miss Norma. 8 cottages with cold water; private or shared bathrooms. ‘Simple, affordable rooms make Blueberry Hill a backpacker favorite!’

Countryside Inn~

Walk up from the fire station on the main street about 10 minutes. Countryside is located in a quiet area of Mamey Lane close to the football field and the Iguana station. Dive Inn at Altons Dive Center~
14 basic rooms with fans with shared bath, and right on the water. 6 twin private rooms, and also 8 dorms rooms with 4 beds. Usually fill up fast with those diving at Altons Dive Shop. Daily cleaning. Shared kitchen and snack bar on site with fun environment.

Harbour View Hotel~
Inexpensive option associated with Parrots Dive Center in the center of town. Located next to Tranquila Bar, so can get a little noisy, but also makes it a happening and fun spot. There is a shared kitchen facility for guests to use.

Hotel Trudy Dorm Rooms~
Hotel Trudy at Underwater Vision Dive Center has a range of rooms from budget to more comfortable. Dorm style rooms available at the resort on the seaside with each room containing 4 beds, locker, fan, shared bathroom with hot water.
Hotel Laguna del Mar right across the street on the lagoon side of the road has additional dorm rooms and singles.
Dorm rooms and rooms at Laguna del Mar are generally reserved for those diving with Underwater Vision.
The grounds are beautiful and there is a spacious central area with direct access to the water for swimming and snorkeling and diving, beach volleyball, hammocks, and bar/restaurant.
Shared kitchen facilities available for guests to use.

Located on the premises of Underwater Vision PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Resort on the main street. Walk to the right of the ferry dock a few “blocks” about seven minutes toward the point.

Laguna del Mar ~
A recently renovated and updated hotel geared for the budget traveler. Private rooms with one double or two single beds, private bathroom, and fan.
Generally reserved for those diving with Underwater Vision
Location: Main Street, turn right from the ferry dock and walk a few “blocks” toward the point about seven minutes. Located on the left hand side of road on the lagoon, across from and affiliated with Underwater Vision and Hotel Trudy’s. Shared kitchen facilities are available for guests to use.
Access to the The beautiful grounds on the resort where there is a spacious central area with direct access to the water for swimming and snorkeling and diving, beach volleyball, hammocks, and bar/restaurant.

Mango Inn Dorm Rooms~
The folks at Mango Inn try to offer a price range for every budget, starting with dorm rooms with shared hot water bathrooms up to deluxe suites. Mango Inn has beautiful gardens, a pool and restaurant on premises.
Package deals are available and discounts offered to divers with Utila Dive Center.

Pirate’s Bay Inn

The Venue
New hostel (December 2015), located at Chepes beach offers 5 triple bunk dorm rooms with shared bath. Restaurant and bar on site with lagoon and beach access.

Hotel Kayla~
Hotel Kayla is located on Jewel Cay off the south western end of the main island of Utila-a 20-30 minute boat ride from the center of Utila Town. Relax Inn~
This clean and comfortable hotel has rooms with private bath, hot water, fan, AC, small refrigerator and rooms which can accommodate one to three people. Travelers have commented that owners Desmond and Dilcia treat you like family and will commonly invite hotel guests over for lunch or supper. The hotel is right on the bay with front and back porches, and a pier to swim off of as well as benches to watch the sunrise and sunsets. There is a shared kitchen for use by all guests.

Coral View~
Run by local Mrs. Tania and her husband C.J., this is a nice option which is a little out of town which makes it quieter and located right in front of the sea. They have a salt water pool and access to great snorkeling in a low-key, very clean environment. Coral View has a dive center on premise. There is a restaurant on site and covered dock/bar at the edge of the bay.

Coral View is in Blue Bayou, which is about a 20 minute walk from town and an incredible place for snorkeling offshore. If you are walking, it’s at the edge of town, all the way to the left of ferry dock. About 30 minute walk; but they will come get you or you can take a moto taxi for about $2 usd.
